Pet Lovers Can Be Scary!

I encountered the most annoying, "baby/puppy talking" voiced lady today at PetSmart. Seriously! I wish I could have recorded her "talking" to all of the dogs out front waiting to be adopted. Try to imagine this..... On Speed ..... "Well, hellllooo, there!!! Do you neeed some attention? Do you? Do you? Yes you DOOO!!! Oh Yess!! Do you need someone to pet you??? Ohhhh, therrreee, I'll pet you!!! You are just soooo cute, yess you are!! Sooo sweeett!!" (all high pitched, over the top excited and in the baby talk voice)...

PUKE

Even Madison was looking at me like she was cookoo for coco puffs.

Hey lady, the crazy train just left... you missed it.

It was worse than the lady I saw at Rite Aid the other day who had her poodle in her shopping cart (in the front of course), wearing BLUSH. Yep, you heard me right. BLUSH. Her words exactly: "When she sees mommy wearing make up, she wants to wear some too." I kid not.

Hmmm, maybe I just need to get a dog.

TA DA! and McKenna Turns 10!

OK... I've been checking out some various blogs lately and thought maybe I'd give this blogging thing a try. My dear friend Christy's blog was the first one I've followed regularly and has kind of gotten me up to date technology-wise (as far as what a blog even is), [Thanks Christy!] and I do visit Jenna's (I mean, Ms. Karr's) blog too! As of late I've been blog browsing and have seen a couple that make me laugh and several that make me want to eat yummy food! So I thought, what the heck, maybe I'll try my hand at this... its Free! :) ...

Though... I have no idea what will be interesting enough in my life to write about. Because its not like I have these fabulous recipes to share or anything exciting happens around here. But I guess maybe it will give me something to do with myself since all of my kiddos are in school now

....... McKenna Turns 10 Today!! ........... That is newsworthy right? :)

This year, for her party, McKenna chose to have her 3 BFF's go with her to get pedicures and go to lunch at Mimi's. Wow! That's quite a shift from the ole Chuck E Cheese standby. And I was super glad to oblige. I have had my fair share of birthdays at CEC and was ready for a change of scenery. Not that I don't love Chuck, don't get me wrong. I love nothing more than dining with a giant rat trying to 'hug' my children, but was welcoming a nice quiet girlie day. All 4 sweet girls were very lady like, but were also sure to have some good ole fashion 10 year old fun. Look at her, isn't she sweet?! I just LOVE her!!! :)

Somehow in the last couple of months Greg decided that age 10 was a big enough milestone to warrant lobster for dinner! Hmmm. Somehow my parents missed the obviousness that Greg sees. Well, based on budgetary cuts and the fact that sweet McKenna doesn't mind dining at home, we saved a few bucks (ok more than a few), by purchasing a lobster tail from Albertsons for $5.99, and some shrimp and snow crab (on sale too for $2.99/lb!) for the rest of us. The rest of her menu choice: Watermelon, Top Sirloin... oh and the most important request.... deviled eggs! Don't ask, I truly have no idea why. I have never in my life (until yesterday) made deviled eggs. But, I must say, thanks to my mother in law, they came out great and McKenna was greatly pleased. And since the child does not favor cake, she requested an ice cream pie... strawberry cheesecake ice cream to be exact.

Ohh, I wish I had pictures or video of her enjoying her first bites of the lobster! She is adorable when she is enjoying her food (like her daddy) and made all of the happy faces and noises to go with it. :)

And her sweet little sisters insisted that they buy her a present with their own hard earned money, a whopping $10 each... a trip to Toys R Us produced a Barbie with 2 babies that McKenna had been wanting, and the girls picked it out all by themselves. So sweet!! I love that!

OK I know this is not a picture of Barbie, BUT I just had to post it because.... I have JUST gotten into scrapping and all that sort of thing, AND I gave Madison (my 7 yr old) a few pieces of scrap paper to make her sister a card and this is what she came up with! I LOVE it! My little Scrapper! :) Makes me proud!. Tho she really is my artistic one! For sure!

So, the topper for her birthday today was waking up to the traditionally decorated house of balloons and birthday banner, and then off to Disneyland for the day with Daddy! How can you beat that! Plus, we took advantage of the free BDay ticket which also allows you to put towards an annual pass (saving $62 of the $144!) and added some birthday cash toward that for a bday gift that keeps on giving for an entire year! Whew! Unfortunately I have NO pics of DLand to share since she did go with Dad and of course, he was so not into carrying a backpack or anything which would allow for a camera or snacks or anything practical of that nature at all.

OK, how was that for my first Posting??? Did I do OK?? I know, kinda boring, just gettin my feet wet here...
